Freighted Mother Calls 911 To Ask Permission To Shoot An Intruder

Sometimes being a mother means you have to make really hard decisions when it comes to the safety of your child.

As much as you may not agree with what needs to be done, most mothers will trade their personal morals to make sure their children are safe from home. Especially when it comes to defending them.

As much as people joke about it, our instincts to protect our children are deep within us.

When our children are in trouble, mothers will often turn into ‘angry momma bears’ who will fight to keep their children alive

This case wasn’t any different.

Sarah is a teen mom. She lives in Oklahoma. On New Year’s Eve, Sarah was home alone with her 3-month-old son. But during their calm night in, the unthinkable happened.

A complete stranger attempted to break into Sarah’s home. The thought of this happening when you’re home with just your baby is enough to scare any mother.

Sarah didn’t have anyone in the house to call for help as her husband just passed away the week before from cancer. With no one to help her out, Sarah quickly sprinted to the bedroom and called 911.

It wasn’t any ordinary 911 call. For both Sarah and the operator, it was quite a surreal experience.

The operator answered the call. That’ when Sarah asked her one shocking question that no one could ever imagine being asked.

“’I’ve got two guns in my hand. Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?’

Diane Graham, the 911 operator that answered Sarah’s call had to really think about how she replied.

‘Well, you have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself. I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby.’

The intruder kicked down the door and attacked Sarah with a knife.

Sarah’s immediate reaction was to shoot. This dramatic and life changing decision killed 24-year-old
Justin Shane Martin, the man who was trying to attack Sarah.

This act saved her life, as well as the life of her baby boy.

‘You have to make a choice, you or him. I chose my son over him.’

Sarah was not charged with murder because of the incident as she clearly acted in self defense.

What do you think about this shocking and dramatic incident? Why not tell us your thoughts in the COMMENTS?
