This Is The Real Reason Dogs Like To Sit By Your Feet…

If you have a dog, you’ll know all about their little habits and I’m sure they will know all about yours too!

After all, there’s a reason why the saying goes, “dog is man’s best friend.” It’s true! However, sometimes our dog’s behaviour can be pretty confusing and make us wonder what on earth is going on in that head of theirs. Well, guess what? I have the answers to some of the weird things your dog might do and the reasons why they do it.

Let’s take a look…

When He Brings You Gifts…

Does your dog often drop random items at your feet as though they are bringing you a little gift? Well, there’s a reason why he does this. A dog likes to show off his ability, and he wants to give you a present. He wants you to see how smart and cute he is!

When She Takes Over The Bed…

When your dog is desperate to sleep in your bed with you it’s because she wants to be with other members of her pack, and if you are her loving owner, then you are her pack!

When He Sits On Your Feet…

. When a dog sits on top of your feet, he’s ‘marking his territory’ and claiming you a member of his pack.

However, if your dog is a puppy or a little timid, this is his way of reassuring himself that you are there for him.

When She Puts Her Paws In The Air…

This is a sign of concentration. A dog does this when she has thought of a brilliant idea in her head. Talk about a eureka moment!

When He Yawns…

Your dog is probably tired or bored, or he might have seen you yawn, so he yawns in response (yawns are contagious!).

When She Trashes Your House…

If your dog chews all your furniture it’s probably because she has separation anxiety and can’t stand to be away from you for too long.

New puppies tend to do this as they aren’t used to being away from you yet, however they usually grow out of it as they get used to your routine

When He Leans Against Your Leg…

If your dog leans against your leg, then he needs reassurance. He wants you to reiterate your love for him and ensure him that everything is safe and sound. He’s seeking affection, so give it to him.

When She Hunches Over…

If a dog hunches over, then they are making themselves invisible. It’s a survival instinct that all animals have, and it’s usually found in abused animals. This is the time to show them some love!

When He Stares At You…

When your pooch stares into your eyes it’s because he loves you and he’s going to look at you with all his passion and affection. How sweet!
