HOW TO GET THE UNPLEASANT PEE SMELL OUT OF YOUR BATHROOM!

Before we start with this article, I would like to ask you a few simple questions – are you embarrassed about the smell of your bathroom?  Do you pray that guests won’t want to use the bathroom when they come over?  Are you worried that your son’s bad aim (especially if you have a lot of boys like we do) has ruined your bathroom forever? Well, if you answered Yes to the previous question, then you’re in the right place! In this article we’re going to show you a few simple tips and tricks, which will help you get rid of the bad pee smell in your bathroom!

Well, these are the best tips and tricks for neutralizing the bad pee smell!
  1. Wash the rug.

A bit of an obvious answer is to wash or permanently remove the rug you might have in front of the toilet. Unfortunately, little boys will manage to pee out the crack between the seat and the bowl leaving pee running down the toilet onto the floor.

  1. Remove the toilet seat and clean periodically.

A new toilet seat is not expensive – they start at about $10.  So, you should replace your old toilet seat with a new one!  And, you should pay more money and get the one with a non-slam lid.  Most of the seat options at Home Depot can be removed easily for cleaning with hinges that twist.

  1. Maintain the caulk around the toilet.

Caulk doesn’t last forever, and cracks in the caulk are just going to let the mess fester.

  1. Use this homemade bathroom cleaner

You can use this cleaner to mop tile or linoleum floors.  You shouldn’t use it on wood. Note: test any fabrics or carpet first – the borax may take the color out! This cleaner does not keep and should be mixed up fresh each time.  It does not need to be rinsed off the floor, but you can rinse if you want.

  • 2 gallons’ hot water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup borax (optional)
  • a small squirt of dish washing soap

Directions:

Here’s what you need to do – just mix baking soda and water to create a paste.  Use a sponge to scrub this onto the floor and the base of the toilet.  Scrub the caulk and tile grout.  Let it sit for a few minutes.  Then spray with a 50/50 vinegar and water mixture.  Rinse with water.

  1. Make the Best Homemade Absorbent:

You will need the following ingredients:

  • A glass bottle.
  • Sodium bicarbonate.
  • 3 to 5 cloves.
  • A piece of tulle or similar fabric.

Directions:

Here’s what you need to do – first, you should fill the jar halfway with baking soda, add cloves and a few drops of lemon essential oil. Now, you should place the piece of tulle or similar fabric and fasten with a bandage or tape (for a more decorative touch). This simple trick will absorb all kinds of smells in your home, including the bathroom.
