Bright Side believes that truly honest people stay true to their principles even in difficult situations.
Woralop, a 44-year-old homeless resident of Thailand, is one of those people.
Having picked up a designer wallet at a subway station, he resisted the temptation to take its contents. Instead, he hurried to return it to the owner.
And this is despite the fact he found 20,000 baht ($580) and some credit cards in the wallet, and the man himself had only several coins in his pocket, which was hardly enough to buy food.
Instead of spending the money he found on his own needs, Woralop gave his find to the police, where the identity of the owner was established.
It turned out to be 30-year-old factory owner Niity Pongkriangyos, who was simply taken aback by the honesty of a homeless man. ’
If it was me in that position, I probably would have kept it,’
Niity wanted to offer Woralop money as a thank you, but then he decided this wouldn’t be enough. So he gave him a job at his factory and provided him with a service apartment.
Now the formerly homeless man earns 11,000 baht ($317) a month, and he no longer has to spend nights in the subway.
‘I’m so grateful to be given this chance to turn my life around,’ he said. ’Having a clean bed to sleep in makes me so happy now.’
