5. Flaxseed

There are substances called lignans in flaxseed that are important modulators of hormone metabolism. Since so many issues associated with menopause are hormone-related, flaxseed can help alleviate many symptoms. It is especially useful or hot flashes and night sweats. Ground flaxseed is the best for menopausal women and can be easily ground in a coffee grinder. Use 1-2 tablespoons every day.

Menopause can be a confusing, frustrating, and humiliating time for many women. It doesn’t help that there are few prescriptions that can alleviate these symptoms without bringing on a new influx of different side effects.
