Studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like potatoes decreases the risk of obesity and overall mortality, diabetes, heart disease and promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight. But not all of the potatoes are good for your health and are good for consumption; on the contrary they can be the cause of death if you are not careful enough!
Potatoes that have stayed for a long time are better to be thrown instead of eaten. Hear this story and you’ll find out why:
This 8 year-old girl’s father had placed a batch of potatoes in their cellar and because of their careless behavior, she is now an orphan. Her name is Maria Chelysehava and she’s from Russia. One day they decided to prepare the potatoes that were in the basement for a long period of time, and her father went first to get them, and he never returned from the basement. After him, Maria’s brother, mother and grandmother went to see what’s going on and check him out and by the time the neighbor arrived, they were all in the basement. They were all dead.
It’s important to remember that potatoes contain glycoalkaloids, a chemical compound that is also found in poisonous nightshade plants. That makes potatoes naturally toxic under the right circumstances, not just when they’re eaten by humans, but even from simply breathing in their chemicals. They release a toxic gas that when breathed into the human body it causes damage in the breathing organs.
This is a terrible story but we should learn from their mistake and never leave potatoes to rotten, always remember to throw them away before it’s too late.
