10 Natural Remedies to Remove Keloids

A keloid is a bump, scar or scratch on the skin.

They appear like scars and are composed mainly of type I (late) or type III (early) collagen.

Keloids basically occur when the skin of an already healed wound has an overgrowth of granulation tissue.

This will eventually be replaced by collagen type I and they appear as firm and rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules; with a skin color that is natural or bright pink on a Caucasian.

Keloid scars tend to be raised and also do not disappear, they are usually covered by thick scar tissue that grows.

As earlier stated keloids appear on the site of an injury or surgery and they are caused be an inflammation of the skin tissue.

1. Effective Lemon Juice

This citrus fruit is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. It is great in getting rid of scars as well as keloids.

Just topically apply freshly squeezed lemon juice on the keloids and leave it for about half an hour, rinse subsequently.

2. Mustard Oil Works Miracles!

This oil works well in treating keloids, this is because of its antifungal properties, all you need to do is topically apply some mustard oil on the keloids thrice daily.

3. Use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

You can use baking soda to get rid of your keloids, it is a great exfoliator for your skin as well.

Just combine one part of baking soda to three parts of peroxide, mix and get a paste. This paste should then be applied to the keloids, it will reduce inflammation and help with healing.

6. Excellent Aloe Vera

If you want to moisturise your skin, reduce inflammation and even heal damaged skin then look no further than aloe vera.

You should ensure that the keloids are cleaned with warm water before you apply your fresh aloe vera gel on them, you will notice a reduction in a short period of time.

7. Try Lavender Oil

Lavender oil will increase your skin cell turnover and thereby prevent any scar from being permanent. It’s skin rejuvenating properties are excellent and you can apply gently massage some lavender oil to the site of the keloids and leave the oil on it for some minutes for it to work its wonders.

8. Rosewater And Sandalwood Work Well

Sandalwood has excellent regenerating properties while Rosewater is a wonderful skin toner. You should mix the two together to get a paste that you can apply on the keloids before bedtime, rinse the paste off in the morning after waking up from sleep.

9. Raw Natural Honey

Raw natural honey us excellent for its skin healing and moisturising properties.

You can apply some honey on the keloids and watch as it will improve blood circulation and also prevent a buildup of dead skin cells.

10. Use Fuller’s Earth

You can combine one teaspoon of rose water with one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and one tablespoon of fuller’s earth and form a thick paste.

Just topically apply the paste to your keloids by gently massaging it, do this until it softens.

You should then allow the keloids to dry M, then apply another coat of paste and leave this on the keloids for about a quarter of an hour, then rinse using cold water afterwards.
